An Educational Journey Centered on Sustainability and Innovation
Throughout the 2024/25 school year, students from classes 2 MME D and 2 MME E (Mechatronics track) explored the concept of “measurement” in all its dimensions - scientific, technical, and social.
The initiative explored the concept of measurement from an ecological perspective, combining theory and practice through a variety of engaging activities:
- Scientific labs, including olfactometry and environmental analysis with LOD, Labiotest, and Gesteco
- Company visits, such as to the Gesteco plant in Monfalcone
- Motivational talks with industry experts and professionals, including Dr. Ebe De Marco and sports coach Stefano Pillastrini
- Workshops and group projects designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving
“Combining action with knowledge is at the heart of this experience", said Adriano Luci, President of Gruppo Luci. “Engaging with young people is essential for building the future. Sustainability and safety must become everyday habits, core values that guide every activity".
The final challenge: six ideas, one shared goal
The program wrapped up with an internal challenge where six teams - each composed of four to five students - turned the environmental data they had collected into tangible prototypes or innovative concepts designed to make a difference in everyday life.
The breath that refresh
Atmospheric humidity recovery for drinking water
The Time Challenge
Predictive algorithm to optimize maintenance cycles

Next steps
The success of the program reinforces Gruppo Luci’s commitment to promoting learning by doing initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, safety, and technological innovation. New educational modules in partnership with Malignani are already being planned for the 2025/26 school year, with the goal of involving additional technical departments within the institute.
Measure Change, Make Impact proves that the gap between classroom and industry can be bridged: when measurement becomes action, data turns into skills, skills into solutions, and solutions into growth, for individuals and for the broader community.
The initiative stands as a powerful example of how schools and local partners can connect to deliver experiential learning that prepares students for the challenges of ecological transition and the future of work.
